Hungarian PM Ferenc Gyurcsány met NATO Secretary General and US Secretary of Defense

Hungarian Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány held negotiations with NATO Secretary General, and later with US Secretary of Defense on Thursday morning in the Hungarian Parliament.

Firstly he consulted NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer. No statements were made following the half-an-hour long meeting.

Then the Prime Minister met US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. US Ambassador to Hungary April Foley has also attended the meeting.

The Hungarian forces stationed in Afghanistan will not join the fight against drug traffic – announced Imre Szekeres Minister of Defence on the closing day of the NATO consultations in Budapest.
Imre Szekeres explained that Hungary does not have the forces in Afghanistan that would make these tasks possible.
He added: there is no need for such tasks at the post of the Hungarian Reconstruction Group in the Province of Baglan.
